My name is Ted Trost, and I am a candidate for New Hampshire State Representative, representing the communities of Hudson and Litchfield. My wife and I have lived in Hudson for 24 years, where we raised our two children. I am deeply committed to keeping Hudson and Litchfield a place we all love.
For 9 years I served as an elected member of the town Budget Committee, including time as Chairman, where I worked diligently to balance fiscal responsibility with the needs of our community. I know first-hand the challenges of crafting budgets that keep property taxes in check while funding essential services like education and public safety.
Additionally, I proudly served as a Call Firefighter in our community for 10 years, responding to emergencies and supporting neighbors when they needed it most.
In 2019, I took the lead in stopping the sale of 57 acres of town-owned land to developers, working with residents to successfully designate it as a legally protected Town Forest that will serve our community for generations.
I also served in the library's strategic planning group, which allowed me another opportunity to work alongside fellow community members as we grappled with issues facing our library as our community changes over the coming years.
These experiences have given me a practical, hands-on understanding of what makes our towns work—and what needs improvement at the state level.
